Temperature monitoring of all smart attachments

With the patented high level safety connector system, DiniTech brings a unique feature that is far ahead of the market The system is able to measure the temperature on each individual phase pin on both pins in the case of Schuko Smart Attachments This does not yet exist in this form some brands only measure the temperature (if at all) at the Schuko adapter however, the connector system of NRGkick ensures that it really does look at every single phase to see whether the temperature is moving into a dangerous range! In combination with the Thermo Protect function of the NRGkick charging unit, this ensures that charging is reduced or even paused before danger arises due to excessive heat development.

Temperature Management

By monitoring the temperature of the Smart Attachments at each phase pin, the NRGkick charging unit knows exactly whether the temperature at the connection point is still within an acceptable range or whether there is a contact resistance that generates heat due to a poorly wired socket (contacts not optimally closed, etc).

Before it becomes dangerous and the temperature in the socket becomes so high that materials can melt, NRGkick regulates the charging current fully automatically If this does not help either, the charge is even paused in an emergency.

Extremely robust

Absolutely temperature resistant (from -40°C to +70°C)

Practical experience shows that many charging units and wallboxes have problems with heat this means that the charging current has to be reduced or, in the worst case, the charge even has to be paused or aborted NRGkick is more than a nose ahead of all the others and is extremely resistant to heat, but also cold, with an operating temperature range from arctic 40 degrees to true desert temperatures of 70 degrees Celsius.

Water- & dustproof (IP67)

The extraordinarily high protection classification IP 67 states that wetness absolutely cannot harm the charging unit Even submerging the charging unit under water would not cause any damage or impairment While other charging solutions already run into problems in a light drizzle, NRGkick can withstand a monsoon with ease.

By the way Even if NRGkick gets soaking wet, operation via the touch sensitive surface continues to work perfectly (in winter even with gloves, to protect fingers that are very sensitive to cold…)!

Shock and impact resistant (IK10)

Imagine your charging unit accidentally falling onto the hard asphalt floor While elsewhere you have to pick up splinters of broken plastic, with NRGkick you can continue loading easily and relaxed.

Because NRGkick is shock and impact resistant according to IK 10 it is extremely robust and can easily withstand even accidental contact with hard surfaces without suffering any damage.

Drive-over proof

NRGkick is extremely robust despite its handiness and low weight It even passes the drive over test with a vehicle (according to IEC EN 62752 flawlessly. Even if it hopefully never happens to you If the worst comes to the worst, NRGkick is completely safe even under such extreme situations.

Theft-protected

No chance for thieves: The Type 2 plug on the vehicle side of the charging unit is mechanically locked to the electric car and remains so until the user removes the lock This rules out the possibility of the NRGkick being stolen.

Tamper-protected

NRGkick offers comprehensive protection against improper adjustment of the charging current, for example by curious passers by or inquisitive children 20 seconds after plugging the NRGkick into the vehicle, the charging current can no longer be adjusted on the charging unit itself, thus preventing unpleasant surprises By the way: With the free NRGkick app, only the authorised user can adjust the charging current to his or her needs at any time, even during charging!

Automatic self check

When the NRGkick is connected to the power supply and additionally before each charging start, a self check is carried out which, among other things, performs a complete check of the integrated residual current protection mechanism and other safety mechanisms, thus ensuring that the mobile charging unit functions properly and, above all, safely.

Overvoltage protection

NRGkick protects against overvoltages and even against incorrectly wired sockets! For example A socket was accidentally wired to L 2 or L 3 instead of the N conductor Thus, the electronics would not be supplied with 230 V but with 400 V this would destroy devices connected to this incorrectly installed socket NRGkick, on the other hand, does not take any damage here due to the integrated protection against overvoltage and also reliably prevents charging from being carried out at the incorrectly installed socket.

In the future, there will even be configurable push notifications for your smartphone to alert you that there might be a problem with the connection!

Mains frequency diagnosis

The NRGkick app informs the user about a range of details – not only about the charging process itself For example, the current, voltage and power of each individual phase as well as the mains frequency are displayed.

Protection from wrongly wired sockets

NRGkick detects whether a socket has been wired or installed incorrectly for example, if a second phase has been connected to a three phase socket instead of the neutral conductor This enables it to alert the user that there is a problem with a socket by means of an LED signal on the charging unit and the connector unit, and in future even by means of configurable notification/push notification on the smartphone.

Residual current protection mechanism (AC, DC, + 6 mA)

NRGkick has an all current sensitive residual current protection mechanism which reliably and permanently monitors and complies with the strict limit values of the latest standards (DC 6 mA) This provides maximum possible safety from fault currents that could otherwise be released from the electric car into the supply network! It also reduces costs for the user, as an expensive type B RCD is no longer necessary in the upstream installation.

PE conductor test

NRGkick uses sophisticated measurement technology (loop impedance measurement) to check whether the earth conductor circuit is properly designed and otherwise issues an error message Nevertheless, with NRGkick it is of course also possible to charge in networks without earth conductors (“Norway mode”).

Phase shift detection

NRGkick is able to detect phase shifts If a phase has been “bridged” across all three phases and charging is attempted at such a socket, NRGkick protects against this and informs the user of the fault by means of the LED displays on the charging unit and Connector Unit.

Blackout protection

NRGkick protects you from power outages with its integrated blackout protection: Thanks to the low voltage protection in combination with the autonomous load management, NRGkick is able to automatically regulate the charging current in the event of a voltage drop due to an excessive load in the grid so that the power grid can “recover” or stabilise again

Hot Unplug Protection / Arc Protection

If a user disconnects a charging unit from the socket while charging is in progress (without properly terminating the charge beforehand), an “electric arc” will occur With ordinary charging units, this damages the contacts on the socket and the plug or adapter and thus poses a danger because damaged contacts lead to higher heat generation.

With NRGkick, this is completely impossible it is the only charging unit on the market, where even if the system is disconnected during charging, the current flow is interrupted even before the contacts leave each other dangerous arcing is thus excluded!

Internal switching contact check

The internal switching contact of the mobile charging unit is checked for safe condition during the self test. Charging is only possible if the diagnosis is absolutely error-free. If this is not the case, charging is impossible and you will also be informed of the detected error by LED signals on the charging unit and the Connector Unit.
